There are a few different ways to find the right keywords to use in Pinterest board name titles.

I recommend starting with the search bar auto-fill for more broad board names and if/when you want to add in more niche board names you can use some of the other methods.

1. Pinterest Search Bar with Auto-fill

As shown in the example above, the Pinterest search bar is auto-populated when a person begins searching.

The most popular keywords will appear higher on the list. This is done to help the user find what they are looking for, and it’s also a huge help for Pinterest markers to find the most popular keywords.

2. Pinterest Suggested Keywords

Here’s an example in the Money Niche.

Pinterest search: ‘make money’.

The below keyword list shows in order of most popular searches. As you can see ‘home’ is the 2nd recommended word Pinterest is using to narrow the search for the user. This is, therefore, a great keyword to target.

Therefore the board name could be ‘make money from home’.

3. Ideas You Might Love

When you click on a pin to see it at full size, scroll down until you come across the ‘ideas you might love’ section.

This will show keywords related to the pin you opened, which could also give you a good idea of some additional words to put in your board name.

4. Related Searches

After you do a search on the homepage, scroll until you see this section, which can be found numerous times (with different recommended related searches) depending on how far you scroll.

As you can see below, I searched for ‘self care ideas’ and the first ‘related searches’ section called out: self care lifestyle, self care hacks, diy self care, self care ideas for women and self care at home.

4. Pinterest Trends Tool

To access the trends tool, go to the to left menu, then under ‘Analyze Performance’ you’ll find ‘Pinterest Trends’ (a couple of options under Pinterest analytics).

Scroll to the ‘Discover trends in (your country name)’ where you can look at the weekly, monthly and yearly change of trending keywords.

You can use the filter section to find more specifically what you’re looking for. Filter by:

Trends: growing, seasonal, top yearly, top monthly
Interests: which you can select from a dropdown list
Keywords: Add your topic here to see the related results.
Age & Gender: Great if you want to know more specifically what your target audience is searching for

Other Things To Keep In Mind When Naming Your Pinterest Boards

Make sure your board names are broad enough that you can regularly save related pins to the board.
Use seasonal names for board names where it makes sense –
